NUNUNGAN, Lanao del Norte – Twenty-five (25) Barangay Captains of the Municipality of Nunungan joined the Community Tourism Awareness Seminar hosted by the PGO-Tourism Operation Division (PTOD) on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Masibay Multipurpose Hall, Nunungan, Lanao del Norte.

Nunungan Lake, being one of the emerging tourist destinations in the province, the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte finds it essential to develop ecological consciousness to the locals, enhancing and fostering community-based tourism development.

This activity is in partnership with the Department of Tourism X (DOT10) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), where they invited Decius Esmedalla, DOT X Chief Tourism Operations Officer, Grace Lapeciros, DENR Environmental Management Specialist, and Saiben Mampao, Protected Area Superintendent to be the speakers of the said seminar.

Mayor Marcos Mamay, said, “We are thankful to the Provincial Government for conducting this seminar. Surely, it can broaden their knowledge and make us come up with ideas on how tourism can benefit our community and bring new opportunities.” PIO-LDN
