The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Lanao del Norte lauded the local government unit of Nunungan headed by Mayor Marcos Mamay for initiating its first Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Summit recently held at Horizons Resort, Baroy town.

The activity esnures the continuity of commitment and support among ADAC members to maintain the town’s recognition as the first Drug Free Municipality in the entire region 10.

The ADAC Performance Audit is a collaborative effort between national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), and civil society organizations (CSOs). It employs a multi-level and participatory audit structure to ensure the integrity of the audit process and its results.

Nunungan was awarded as the lone municipality in the entire region garnering perfect score of 100 based on the functionality indicators and among the 241 outstanding LGU’s with exemplary efforts, through their ADAC’s, in congruence with the national government measures to eradicate the country’s illegal drugs problem.

The award was given to Nunungan LGU early this year during the 1st National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards in Manila.

“We appreciate Nunungan officials for initiating the 1st ADAC Summit participated by the majority of ADAC members. This is an avenue to rehash the commitment of the people to maintain their pledges and sustain the advocacy for a drug-free municipality, “PD Colao said.

“We maximize the prize we got from DILG worth 250K for this ADAC Summit. I really appreciate the support of all Nununganians sa lahat sa aming mga ginagawa na mga activities,” Mayor Mamay explained.
