The municipality of Nunungan has acquired recently new vehicle units for disaster and emergency response, a one off-road vehicle and a mini bus unit intended to serve the entire populace of the town to boost the LGU’s response efforts and sourced out from the 30% Municipal Disaster Reduction Response (MDRR) budget.

“It is with gratitude that my office (MDRRMO) received the said vehicles graciously provided by the LGU. Thanks to Mayor Mamay and other local officials for prioritizing the release of the funds,” said MDRRMO Head Mark Carillo.

The said vehicles are intended to help MDRRMO effectively and immediately dispense needed assistance and to reach outlying communities of the town.

“We are institutionalizing policies, structures, programs with continuing appropriation on DRR in our locality including capacity of our personnel and mobility to in place disaster resilience of communities to reduce disaster risks,” Mayor Marcos Mamay explained.
