Ramadan has always been a busy month. It offers Muslims the opportunities to further enhance their spiritual development and for charitable acts.To date, many of the traditional Ramadan activities cannot be carried out because gatherings in places of worship are prohibited as precautionary and preventive measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, the provincial government of Lanao del Norte assures that programs intended for the month of Ramadan would not the halted like the distribution of rice or the so called Zakat that has been initiated by PGDN for many years already.

Recipient municipality like Nunungan shared their elation with the initiative of the provincial government Lanao del Norte during Ramadan.

“The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte through the leadership of Governor Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo, Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo and Congressman Mohammad Khalid Dimaporo gave 167 sacks of rice intended for 47 mosques in Nunungan as part of their annual initiative during month of Ramadan,” Mayor Mamay said.

“Zakat is one of the most important pillars of Islam. It is mandatory for every Muslim to pay Zakat to the poor and needy likewise to Islam believers who dedicate their lives in serving Islam religion”, Mamay added.
