One of the most significant dates in the history of the Philippines is Independence Day because it marks the nation’s independence from the Spanish rule on June 12, 1898.
And as per DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2019-75 dated May 23, 2019 requiring all government offices, local governments and private sectors to conduct various meaningful activities to celebrate the 121st Anniversary of Philippine Independence, the Local Government Unit of Nunungan through the able leadership of Mayor Marcos Mamay, commemorated the said event through a flag raising ceremony and flower wreath offering on June 12, 2019, 8:00 A.M., at the Municipal Hall, Petadun, Nunungan, Lanao del Norte.
Among the agencies and offices who participated the said event were Sangguniang Bayan Members, Department of Education – Nunungan District, Association of Barangay Captains (ABC), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and municipal employees.
