Three barangays in the municipality of Nunungan availed the accesibility of  potable water system through the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat (Salintubig) project. These barangays are Rebucon, Liangan and Panganapan.

According to Mayor Marcos Mamay, these are just initial communities benefiting this Salintubig  project and soon next batch will be implemented also propably within this year.

“ The projection would be municipal wide, so we ask residents of the upcoming recipient barangays for a little patience and understanding. We have a lot of projects for Nununganian’s. We deliver these with commitment and moral uprigthness”, Mayor Mamay said.

Salintubig is a project of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Health (DOH) and the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) designed to provide water supply systems to waterless municipalities, barangays, health centers and resettlement sites.

Important documentary requirements  have submitted by LGU Nunungan to DILG prior to the implementaton such as; approved simplified feasibility study, executive summary of project, seal of good housekeeping certification and Sangguniang Bayan resolution, among others.

Nunungan LGU will  also undergo validation to determine their capability in ensuring the sustainability of the project.

There were Salintubig projects implemented in previous years, like in the municipalities of Lala (Lanao del Norte), Laguindingan (Misamis Oriental) and Kibawe (Bukidnon). It is only in the current administration of Mayor Mamay ( with his diligence) that the municipality has acquired this Salintubig.
