“Potre Sa Nunungan” is a beauty pageant staged for the first time in the municipality of Nunungan . According to the organizers, basic requirements are very different from usual beauty contest — you have to be pious, be a positive role model and show how you balance a life of spirituality in today’s modernized world.
Residents of Nunungan specially those living in the barangays were amused by the initiative of the local government showcasing Muslim beauties and showing the best culture of Maranao’s in one particular event. The Search for ” Potre Sa Nunungan” was followed by another eye-popping event the live concert of GMA Artist Angelo Mamay ( Mayor Mamay’s son) with the best collaboration of 4 Dimension Band. Other big events featured on the annual festivity were Fund Climb, 1st Mayor Mamay Tennis Tournament and lot more.
Local officials headed by Mayor Marcos Mamay elated with the positive remarks of expectators who witnessed various events stage in consonance with the 52nd Araw Ng Nunungan – Kalilang and Buntong Festival with the theme: “ Taking a Glimpse of the Municipality: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. Congratulations Nununganians!!!!!
