Officials of the provincial government of Lanao del Norte led by Governor Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo with the presence of military and the Philippine National Police officials’ successfully brought two warring Muslim-Maranao families to “peace-table” held after couple of decades of misunderstanding. The settlement held at the Mindanao Civic Center (MCC), Sagadan, Tubod town.

The governor said she was thankful with the persistence of all the officials who joined the negotiations and managed to convinced the warring parties (Alamada of Nunungan town and Maruhom clan members who are residents of Sultan Naga Dimaporo).

“ I appreciate the effort of Mayor Mamay because he is really committed to protect his vision for his beloved town (Nunungan), we don’t want that his efforts for peace and development be wasted and will turn in vain,” Governor Dimaporo said.

The said settlement was also made possible due to the effort of Sultan Naga Dimaporo Mayor Motalib M. Dimaporo, the Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Rido and Conflict Settlement Chaired by Honorable Board Member Acmad B. Taha, and with the support of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the Command of Brigadier General Facundo O. Palafox IV and the Police Provincial Office headed by Police Colonel Rene S. Solidarios, successfully settled a clan war between the Alamada family of Barangay Rebucon of Nunungan and Maruhom family of Barangay Ilian of Sultan Naga Dimaporo.
