Lanao del Norte Governor Imelda Dimaporo reiterated the commitment of the provincial government for continued support to the six municipalities especially the municipality of Nunungan by providing its constituents various development programs and projects as stipulated on the development priority program.

After the recent notification of plebiscite result, the provincial leadership made an appeal to all stakeholders especially municipal elected officials to set aside political mockery but instead will work together in unison for the betterment of the general populace of the province particularly in the six towns.

“We need to move forward for the betterment of our people,” the Governor said during press briefing at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Office.

Meanwhile, Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay aired his gratitude that his town would become a recipient of more projects from the provincial and national government in the next coming years. The soon-to-be-functioning Bangsamoro Moro Autonomous Region (BARMM) officials also eyed willingness to extend support despite the failed inclusion of the six towns to the Bangsamoro region. This word of support was aired by OPAPP officials in a recent meeting in Metro Manila with some mayors from Lanao del Norte.

Governor Dimaporo had mentioned that if the BARMM would extend any assistance to the six towns then it would be an added chance but according to her “the provincial government will do monitoring of these projects if given to municipalities inside the territory of the province”.
