The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nunungan has maximized the utilization of any available funds for pro-people initiatives specially this time of COVID 19 pandemic.
The LGU had maximized the spending of its Bayanihan Grant to Cities and Municipalities (BGCM) fund equivalent to one month Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) received from the national government.
“Recently, we distributed 4,000 sacks of rice with thousands cans of sardines to 25 barangays in our town,” Mayor Marcos Mamay said.
” BGCM is only intended for ” crisis response efforts” such as purchase of Personal Protective Equipment, testing kits, reagents, medicines, vitamins, hospital facilities, disinfectants, sprayers, tents, misting gears and other related supplies,” MSWDO Corazon Villondo explained.
Based on the guidelines, BGCM fund can also be utilized for transportation, construction of quarantine areas and other COVID 19 related interventions aside from relief goods.
