Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay expressed elation with the support and commitment of Lanao del Norte provincial officials during the recent Provincial Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force (PALTF) on the intensification of the campaign against illegal loggers particularly in the Mt Inayawan area which has been declared as a protected area by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The PAILTF meeting was held at Macapagal Training Center in Tubod town attended by Governor Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo, Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo, Amron Acampong of DENR, PASU Saiben Mampao, PNP Provincial Director PCOL Rolindo Suguilon, Major Salman Saad of PNP, AFP officials, DEPED, DILG, CENRO Iligan, CENRO Kolambugan and other stakeholders.

“Leadership is very essential and key towards attaining our goals to stop the entire operations of illegal loggers. We are thankful to our Congressman and Governor Angging for the support including our security officials”, Mayor Mamay said.

The objective of the said meeting was to strengthen coordination among key players on the campaign against remaining illegal logging activities in Lanao del Norte especially in the Mt. Inayawan which serves as the remaining watershed protecting the entire Kapatagan Valley area.

However, the Mt. Inayawan Range National Park in Nunungan town is also nominated as ASEAN Heritage Park according to Mayor Mamay.
