The families of Alibaser A. Alilang and Muslimen Macadatar has finally agreed to put an end to their more than 20 years of family feud or Rido on August 25, 2021, at the Provincial Police HQs Camp Major Eduardo J Gallego, Pigcarangan, Tubod.

The event would not be possible without the help of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, represented by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Board member and Chairman on Committee on Family Feud (Rido) Settlement, Hon. Acmad Taha, Provincial Police Office headed by Provincial Director PCOL Isaias A. Bacurnay Jr., represented by PLTCOL Mauro P. Guray, DPDA, 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade led by Bde Commander COL Rey B Alemania, and the active participation of nunungan municipal Mayor Marcos Mamay.

The Rido Settlement was officiated by Aleem Noska Abdulrahman, the Provincial Consultant of Rido/Conflict.

Mayor Mamay expressed his appreciation to both families from Nunungan and thanked them for their bravery in resolving their dispute and for embracing peace by signing the Covenant of Peace and Reconciliation and praying hand in hand holding the holy Qur’an.

“We thank our mighty Allah for granting both families peace. We are all brothers in blood. We must all unite and never let our younger generations inherit the grudges and hate in our hearts,” Mayor Mamay said.

Mayor Mamay, on behalf of the people of Nunungan, also extends his sincerest gratitude to our visionary leaders for their support and cooperation in making the settlement a successful.

“Most of all, I want to thank our dynamic Governor Angging Quibranza-Dimaporo who has always been there for reminding us to continually act on Rido settlement as it is vital to our tourism development of the town; our 2 Congressmen Abdullah and Khalid Dimaporo for their untiring initiatives in turning Nunungan a competitive town; our Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members headed by Vice Governor Cristy Atay, BM Acmad Taha the Committee Chairman on Family Feud (Rido) Settlement; Provincial Police Office headed by Provincial Director PCOL Isaias A.
