Nunungan Mayor Marcos during his recent visit to various schools in the town, with the newly installed Schools’ Division Superintendent Edilberto Oplenaria reiterated his commitment of support to the programs of the education sector for his municipality.
“Yes, I believe that education is the key to success because education makes us aware of knowledge, skills, ethics that would help us progress and develop further. With the absence of education, we cannot read or write what would deprived us to know about valuable information and wisdom that can make us very successful. That’s why we are utilizing our efforts to support Deped,” Mayor Mamay explained.
“I was once a student from one of the schools here in Nunungan during the time where roads were unpassable, rooms were dilapidated. The reality was, you have to strive hard to pull yourself out from the abject poverty yan yung dati, at yan ang hindi ko gustong mangyari sa mga kabataan sa Nunungan ngayon. I want them to access whatever opportunities or programs na makakatulong sa kanila,” Mayor Mamay added.
SDS Oplenaria made his visit with other Deped officials to different districts of Lanao del Norte division to meet with local officials and Deped counterparts specifically on the far-off areas of the province.
