The Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology honored the accomplishments of its alumni through the Association of Iligan Institute of Technology Alumni Foundation, Incorporated (AIITAFI) held Saturday July 14, at the MSU-IIT Campus, Iligan City.

Every year, the AIITAFI awards Trophies to MSU-IIT Alumni who will be selected in the search for The Outstanding MSU-IIT Alumni (TOMA), as the association recognizes the alumni’s careers and their professional excellence, their exemplary contributions to their fields in the local, national, or international community, and their remarkable and selfless services to humanity. Their success is not limited to what they have attained in their chosen fields, but also extends to their social involvement.

“Our alumni are reflections of the institution’s education standards, and how they translate their knowledge in skills for community involvement,” MSU-IIT official said.

AIITAFI proudly recognizes Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay as one this year’s most esteemed alumni members particularly excelled in public service. Mayor Mamay is one of the best well-known good performing Local Chief Executive (LCE) recognized not only in the entire province of Lanao del Norte but in the whole country as well. Other successful alumni members were also awarded during the event.

He recieved various awards in his peace initiative and best performance as public official. He would recieve international award next month from a group of well-known Filipino-Americans in the United States of America.

However, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) recently ranked 6th among all schools in the Philippines with six programs awarded as Centers of Excellence and 11 programs as Centers of Development as given by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). It still soars high as it celebrates its 50th Charter Day with the theme, “MSU-IIT at 50: Soaring High towards Excellence and Holistic Development”.
