The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) successfully conducted the Regional and Provincial Reading Qur’an Competition was held @ Evacuation Center in Masibay, Nunungan, Lanao del Norte on January 27, 2019. The said event was made possible in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Nunungan, with the of the Provincial Government through the leadership of our dynamic Governor Angging Quibranza Dimaporo and Congressman Abdullah Dimaporo.

The event was also attended by newly proclaimed youth Ambassador of Peace Former Actress Queenie Padilla – the daughter of Robin Padilla and GMA Actor Angelo Mamay (son of Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay).

Quran readers were from different provinces of the region competed for this year’s Nunungan Qur’an Reading Competition, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) said.

NCMF emphasized the importance of Qurán among young Muslim Filipinos. The team was headed by Cosanie Mortaba Derogongan – Acting Director, Bureau of Peace and Conflict Resolution, NCMF Acting Provincial Director Sarah Lomondot Camama, Sheikh Khairoden Sharief of the Masha’ikh Movement, Film Director Angelo Carpio, my Friend Sahraman “Arman” Disomimba, and colleagues.

In his message, Mayor Mamay said: “We are very thankful to NCMF for choosing Nunungan as the venue of this event. This would surely give good impact to Nununganian’s as an appropriate time to listen and take time internalizing the melodic passages of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and to strengthen your faith in Allah.”
