The National Electrification Administration (NEA) is celebrating its 54th Founding Anniversary and the 14th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM) on August 9, 2023.

NEA’s anniversary is being held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) . Various stakeholders and guests from the government and private sector were invited to celebrate and acknowledge the agency’s achievements, particularly its Rural Electrification Program.

Guided by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s electrification goal, NEA’s 54th anniversary was celebrated under the theme “Total Electrification by 2028.” During his welcoming remarks Administrator Almeda stated that NEA, together with the 121 Electric Cooperatives, and its partners in government and the private sector can achieve the President’s vision of a fully electrified Philippines.

NEA also conducted a ceremonial switch-on for the 43 Million consumer connection in 12 barangays in Nunungan, Lanao del Norte.

Also present during the event were Lanao del Norte Provincial Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo, 2nd District Congresswoman Sittie Aminah Q. Dimaporo, former Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo, Mr. Sherwin Mañada Acting General Manager of Lanao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LANECO), Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay, the National Vice-President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines for External Affairs.
