Municipal responders of Nunungan and Heath care service providers of Lanao del Norte conducted an orientation on proper handling of persons infected with Corona Diseases 2019 held recently at the MCC Function Hall.
The event was part of the Information, Education Campaign (IEC) effort of the government spreading specific information and intervention about the disease.
“Our staff attended the orientation for them to have specific information about the disease and could provide exact intervention if there are unexpected things to happen. It is also imperative to know about exact Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to mitigate possible contamination of COVID-19,” Mayor Marcos Mamay said.
It can be recalled, that on February 11, 2020 the World Health Organization announced an official name for the disease that is causing the 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak, first identified in Wuhan China. The new name of this disease is coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19. In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease.
Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV” spreading swiftly to other parts of the world.
