In congruence with the extension of Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio (SPKP) campaign of the Department of Health (DOH), ensuring that no child is left unvaccinated and to boost protection for those already vaccinated, heath service providers of the Rural Health Units (RHU) of the municipality of Nunungan conducted recently another round of community vaccination against polio virus.

The Nunungan RHU team reported an average of 99 percent coverage of children who were vaccinated against polio for the said extension of oral vaccination from the first day of its implementation last year.

Rugged terrain was hurdled by the group carrying their medical kits just to serve the listed children living in the outlying communities of the town.

Mayor Marcos Mamay aired his appreciation to the RHU medical team who delivered the necessary services for the populace of Nunungan especially those residing in the far-flung barangays.

“Sumasakay sila ng kabayo o bangka para mapuntahan ang malalayong barangays, nakita ko ang kanilang commitment sa trabaho, at nabigyan ng bakuna ang mga bata,” Mayor Mamay said.
