Mr. Henry C. De Guzman, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator of Nunungan, presented the local climate change adaptation practices of the municipality during the five-day mentoring program on Enhanced Local Climate Change Action Plan conducted by Climate Change Commission (CCC) at New Dawn Hotel Plus, Cagayan de Oro City on March 9-13, 2020.
Climate change adaptation and mitigation has been one of the main agenda of Hon. Marcos M. Mamay. In fact, different activities were conducted and are yet to be implemented to lessen the impact of climate change in the municipality and the province as a whole. Among the activities that were conducted are Climate-Change-Themed Fun Climb in Mt. Inayawan, Clean-Up Drive in Lake Nunungan, Eco-Warrior Tree Planting and Growing in partnership with Junior Chamber International – Panguil Bay in Brgy. Inayawan, and a lot more.
The said mentoring program is part of the initiatives of Cong. Abdullah D. Dimaporo, 2nd District Representative, to orient the LGUs in Lanao del Norte on the components of eLCCAP. Attendees were DRRMOs and MPDCs of different LGUs in the province.
