President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. graces the Philippine Mayors Forum at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, Quezon City on October 27, 2023.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) of the Philippines, with the support of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and its Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), and in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippines, is organizing the Philippine Mayors Forum: Innovation, Digital Governance, and Resiliency Building towards Accelerated Implementation of the 2030 Agenda in the Philippines.

The event bears the theme, the ‘Philippine Mayors Forum: Innovation, Digital Governance, and Resiliency Building towards Accelerated Implementation of the 2030 Agenda in the Philippines’. The DILG further highlights that the localization of the SDGs is vital as it is the core of the Administration’s Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028, which serves as the country’s overall economic blueprint in development planning for the next six (6) years.

Present to witness the occasion are DILG Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos Jr., mayors from different cities and municipalities nationwide, national government officials, UN representatives and international experts.

Also present Lanao del Norte, Nunungan Mayor Marcos Mamay, the National Vice-President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines for External Affairs.
